Frequently Asked Questions
Who is the Mystery School for?
Those of you who have followed the pathways of A Course in Miracles, Advaita Vedanta, Christian Science, and Buddhism will appreciate the depth and the clarity of the teachings shared by: Jesus, Paramahansa Yogananda, Ramana Maharshi, David Hoffmeister, Meher Baba, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Mooji, Adyashanti, and Mary Baker Eddy.
Or perhaps recently you have come to a profound application of the of The Power of Now and The Work from mainstream teachers such as Eckhart Tolle and Byron Katie—while also studying yoga or perhaps practicing Transcendental Meditation? You may have been tickled into questioning your perceptual world through listening to Alan Watts and Douglas Harding or dropped into the mystic while listening to a sublime piece of music. You may have begun to discover quantum physics and the unified field or slipped into awareness of it while reading a poem by Rumi. Perhaps you have witnessed the observer effect in your own life or experimented with the power of the mind through New Thought by allowing your perspective and perception to shift, thereby experiencing miracles.
Perhaps the Christian mystics have lead you into a prayer of quietude, or a deep study of the Gospels has revealed Jesus’ teachings of non-judgment and Love as the living way for you. You may have learned when enjoying the transcendentalists, that Henry David Thoreau was studying the Upanishads when he wrote Walden. You may have been inspired by stories of mystics, saints, and sages like the Desert Fathers, Saint Francis, Thomas Merton, Mahatma Gandhi, or Søren Kierkegaard.
Yet with all this, consistent peace may still seem elusive.
You have humbly discovered personal study has only succeeded in unlocking an even deeper yearning for a more transcendent experience! We are all worthy of an intimate practical application that releases us from the rounds of patterns and suffering.
If you have been inspired by or followed the above teachings then you will have found the common thread in all wisdom traditions: Know thyself.
Our curriculum aims to end this identity crisis by drawing on only that which facilitates Self-realization and points with searing clarity to the I AM Presence. You are invited to relax into pure being by questioning all that arises in a practical experience of unlearning—neti-neti.

Our school offers a vibrant, constantly shifting curriculum in response to the needs of our students and to current events. We research extensively, discussing many scientific, mystical, and transpersonal texts. We watch modern day films, using them as great teaching tools. The metaphysical implications of the hard sciences are also brought into awareness. We listen deeply to the most inspired world music and let our own creative juices flow through the practice of various forms of art and writing. At the core is always the goal of immersion into timeless presence. Be still and know. The still presence that abides in each and every one of us is naturally awakened using these approaches.
